Our First Lady

Evangelist Pamela Baker Helton

Evangelist HeltonI am Pamela B. Helton, a yielded vessel to the service of the Lord. I am the third child born to Wilbur and Dovie Baker. I am the wife of Rev. Dr. Sherman L. Helton, Sr., Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Southaven, Mississippi. I am the natural mother of 2 sons, Sherman L. Jr., Roderick Jerald, and 1 daughter, Rachel Diane Graham, (Frank), and have 1 grandson, Jahdiel, (whom the Lord makes joyful), and 1 granddaughter, Joell, (the Lord is willing). My spiritual children number in the 100’s and range in ages from several months to 30 years.

The Lord came into my heart when I was 7 years old, sitting in the back of Pentecostal Temple COGIC, but public acknowledgement was not made until 3 years later at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church. My walk with the Lord has been awesome and most rewarding. This walk has led me into territory that I never would have chartered alone. This walk has been a promotion to the status of anointed, vessel, servant, joint heir, and friend of God.

My education started in the Memphis Public School system and spanned from LeMoyne-Owen College to Christian Brothers University. The Lord has led my life in the roles of Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Teacher, Psalmist, Youth Ministry, Mentor, and Evangelist. The Lord has allowed me to minister His Word in numerous congregations in Memphis and vicinities over the last 15 years. The Lord has blessed me to be named in Who’s Who Among American Women, and recently a sponsor Laureate for the Computer World Smithsonian Awards in Washington, D.C. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He came to die and was raised from the grave to save the world. I further believe, that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and therefore the supernatural powers of God are made manifested in our lives on a daily basis, whether we acknowledge them or not. My greatest desire is to serve the Lord Jesus in the fullness of the potential that He has put in me. The Lord also uses me as a vessel in warfare prayer, prophetic word spoken and in song; and most recently in praise and liturgical dance ministry.

"Where I am going is where the Lord is leading."
